Shinjuku Central Park is celebrating diversity with two days of festive fun.
What happens?
What does an inclusive city look like, and how do we build one? Diversity Park in Shinjuku tackles the questions through hands-on activities and dialogue.
Over two days, the park creates a barrier-free space where you can try para-sports such as wheelchair basketball, blind soccer and boccia, take part in workshops and talks, and meet the people shaping a more accessible Tokyo.
As is customary, there will also be plenty of food and drink stalls.
Background
Diversity Park was first held in 2016.
Centered on the idea of “mind barrier-free” and with multilingual support, sign language interpretation and workplace training opportunities for people with disabilities, the event aims to make diversity tangible.
