This Lantern Festival used to take place on Marine Day in July but has moved to October to avoid the summer heat.
What happens?
Formerly known as the Marine Day Lantern Festival, the Sea Lights Festival has volunteers set out hundreds of paper lanterns in bright, fancy designs.
Together, the lights form a geoglyph, which is only visible in full when seen from above or across the bay. With the Rainbow Bridge in the background, it makes for a real Instagram-worthy sight.
There will also be live music, hula, and plenty of stalls vending food and beverages.
Schedule 2025
This year’s theme is “the joys of children in the past”.
The hula and other performances start at 10 a.m.
At 11 a.m., paper lanterns are placed on the beach to form the geoglyph. At 5 p.m., visitors join in to light the candles, and by 5:20pm, just after sunset, the illuminated design begins to glow across Odaiba Beach.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.Add to Calendar
