Tokyo International Comedy Festival is back for 11 days of laughs. What to expect TCIF is Japan’s only Western-style stand-up comedy festival, and in 2025, it will be home to over 50 performances in eight venues. This year’s event brings together Japanese and international comedians performing across the city in all manner of solo shows, improv, roast battles, stand-up competitions, and live podcast recordings. Schedule This year’s international headliner, famed American-Lebanese comic Sammy Obeid, will hit the Mame Romantic stage in Daikanyama on September 11, the first night of the event. Also taking place from September 12–14 this year is Roastfest 2025. Roastfest will see international comedians, including Comedy Central Roast Battle veterans, battle it out against some of Tokyo’s finest in Asia’s biggest ever Roast Battle. On top of that, Sunday, September 14 will see a special recording of Your Hood’s a Joke with Danish Anwar. If that’s not enough, there are seven more days of shows to see at Tokyo Comedy Bar and other satellite venues around the city in both English and Japanese.
