In Japanese, nyan is the sound a cat makes, but this festival (for cat lovers, by cat lovers) will get plenty of humans purring, too.
What happens?
There will be 500 booths filled with cat-inspired products: posters, paintings, mugs, mittens with kittens — you name it.
Tickets
You might be confused why the on-the-door ticket is cheaper (at ¥500) than advanced sales; that is because they don’t start selling them till 1 p.m. on the day. So if you want to get there from 11 a.m., you need an advanced ticket for ¥600. Children under 6 years old enter free.
How to get there
The event is held at Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center in Taito, a roughly 5-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Asakusa and Ginza or Tobu Skytree lines. Or a roughly 10-minute walk from Honjo-azumabashi or Tawaramachi stations on the Asakusa or Ginza lines, respectively.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.Add to Calendar
